The only ‘special characters’ that this box will accept are: exclamation point (!), at sign (@), period (.), question mark (?), and dollar sign ($).

All others like: ampersand (&), hat (^), present sign (%), num sign (#), greater than, less than, or equal sign (< > =) are contraband, and if submitted you arrive in place where only the URL field or the back button get you out.     …sorry…
