work experience:

january: ’19 to Present: Currently the sole proprietor of JDM Graphic, an independent consulting company serving the users of the vjoon K4 publishing system.

july ’07 to january: ’19: Editorial System Project Manager for the software company Managing Editor Inc. primary role is to provide technology based work flow consultation, and software implementation, integration and training on a variety of publishing tools including: The Adobe Creative Cloud, AEM Mobile platform,The K4 Publishing System, Woodwing Enterprise, and TruEdit. Technical lead on numerous XML based integrations. Successfully completed numerous projects for monthly titles including: Rolling Stone, Bloomberg Businessweek, Texas Monthly, Martha Stewart Living, Inc, Fast Company and the Condé Nast titles

february ’06 to july ’07: Manufacturing Manager at StayWell Custom Communications. My staff and I were responsible for printing production and mailing of 120 quarterly newletters and two monthly magazines. Work included implementing a system to insure list product matching, list preparation, QA/QC of final products.

march ’02 to february ’06: Apple Macintosh Administrator at Medimedia USA, a health and wellness publisher with 300 million dollars in annual revenue and four offices. I supervise support for 110 Power Mac workstations and 6 workgroup servers securing information for four business units producing Three monthly magazines, 3 quarterly magazines and over 50 monthly and quarterly newsletters.

february ’97 to March ’02: Systems Director of Health Ink and Vitality Magazine. I administer to a network of 80 power macs and a hand full of PC clients. I am responsible for configuring and maintaining a Windows 2000, Active Directory Domain, providing services for Macintosh, WWW, mail, and proxy security services.

september ’95 to march ’97: Served as a member of the director’s advisory committee of The Andrew Gress Graphic Arts Institute, advising on matters of curriculum and trade practice.

september ’94 to march ’97: Was used on a freelance basis by the Gress Graphic Arts Institute as an instructor and systems administrator.

november ’92 to february ’97: Employed by Chapel Printing Inc. under the title of postscript specialist. I was responsible for starting up a postscript prepress department utilizing Macintosh, Crosfield, and Linotype equipment. I personally handled all postscript trouble shooting and administered to a network of ten workstations, two scanners, and three RIPs.
